This important survival item has been specifically designed for long term survival situations. The military survival gillnet is a small meshed (2.6cm netting) nylon fishing net intended for use by military personnel and survivalists. Postitioned across a stream, river or inlet, this fishing gillnet will trap a wide range of fish travelling through its 2.6cm square netting. Measuring 3 metres in length and 1.4m in height, the military gillnet incorporates a top floatline with a bottom leadline meaning that the gillnet is held open whilst submerged. Paracord loops at each end allow the gillnet to be fixed to a riverbed (e,g, using large stones) or to the riverbank. Despite this it is compact enough to fit into a pouch or smock/trouser pocket. Ideal for both marine and freshwater use. Once postioned the net should be checked at regular intervals. Can also be utilised as a trap on land for catching game etc. NB: gillnet use is restricted in the UK - strictly for use in survival/emergency situations only.
